The index finger rests on the bow, while the thumb, middle finger and ring finger are positioned on either side of the barrel, as if holding a pencil. The index finger controls the pressure applied to the tool, while the other fingers are used to rotate it in order to incise the outlines of the design. The tool’s ergonomic qualities make it possible, with a little practice, to make smooth incisions along any type of line (circles, straight lines, curves, etc.).
